Seven malts were used to create deep flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. A hint of bitterness and herbal character from carefully selected European and American hops help support the monolithic maltiness. This special batch was aged in bourbon barrels and conditioned on Malagasy vanilla beans and whole Thunderkiss espresso beans. This year’s vintage of Vanilla Coffee Bourbon Barrel Dark Apparition was aged in select Wild Turkey, Knob Creek and Willett barrels ranging from 13 to 26 months and conditioned on the Thuderkiss Espresso Blend and a blend of Tahitian and Madagascar vanilla beans.
